There’s no doubt that part of the future of publishing is in E-Readers.  However I for one can’t see myself picking up an E-Reader in the near future.  Why you might ask?  Well there’s something I like about being able to pick up a book and read it.  Probably another reason I won’t pick up an E-Reader is the simple fact that I already spent 8+ hours in front of a computer screen and don’t need to spend my reading time doing the same.  My eyes already give me troubles.

Despite my objections to it them there’s no doubt that publishing is going electronic.  Just a little while ago I read an excerpt of Michael Balkinds Sudden death on Book Buzz.  The format was enjoyable for the 10 pages that I read, but would I read a 300+ page book in that format?  I don’t think so.

But here’s the deal.  If having the latest Kindle or iPad gets you to read then by all means pick one of those up and read.  If you think having a book makes you look like a nerd and it’s cool to have an iPad or Kindle, get it.

So where do you fall on the e-readers: gonna get one, can’t live with out it, no thanks I’ll take a hard bound book any day!
